SUMMIT TO EMPOWER YOUTH
By Michael Lowe
Thinking long-term is a secret for financial success to be revealed at a personal development forum this month.
Arise Summit organiser Sam Cawthorn said the day was a not-for-profit event for teaching financial success to people aged 19-29 years.
Mr Cawthorn, who lost an arm and a leg in a head-on collision on the Bass Highway in 2006, said he and other speakers would explain how they found success in their lives.
Speakers include Launceston entrepreneur Kristy Dunphey, theatre identity Danny Gibson and real estate company director Angel Edwards, who just returned from the Kokoda Track in PNG.
“It’s about empowering young adults to be financially excellent,” Mr Cawthorn said.
“We are bringing these minds together so they can share their secrets with other young adults.”
He said financial success involved saving and budgeting.
That meant looking beyond short term to the long term, and not living day to day.
“We are putting this on to empower the entrepreneurs to tomorrow’s world,” he said.
“It will be a very innovative and creative summit going against mainstream ideas to create an experience for all attendees that will arm and empower them.”
